Here is a list of dates for all of the upcoming trainings happening across the Darlington and Newcastle Districts. For more information about training, including what the training involves, who needs to do the training, and FAQ, click here.
Everyone is required to re-do the highest level of safeguarding training that they have done every four years. However, as a region, we encourage everyone to renew their Foundation Module every four years. This is because learning from cases in our districts shows that people need reminding of the 'basics' which the Foundation Module covers, but aren't covered in the Advanced Module.
If you have any questions about this, please get in touch with Lyn Cookson on 07468 881 876
Circuits organise Face-to-Face Foundation Module training sessions, which are then advertised here.
Saturday 20 June 10.00am to 1.00pm, Cullercoats Methodist Church, North Tyneside. Contact Colin Raistrick on 0191 251 2355 or stjohnsmethodistoffice@gmail.com to book.
If no Foundation Modules are happening near you, please get in touch with your Circuit Safeguarding Officer (CSO), who will be able to organise a training session. If you are a CSO, and would like to work together with CSOs in neighbouring Circuits to organise training together, get in touch.
Darlington Methodist District organises a few online Foundation Modules per year, to support Circuits. These are delivered over zoom with two trainers and a Chaplain.
If you have completed the training before, and just need to refresh it, you can also do it as an E-Learning package on MCBX. This is something you can do on your own on a computer (e.g. Laptop, tablet, or smart phone) at your own pace. You can enrol for this package here. Once you have completed it, please sent a copy of your certificate to your Circuit Safeguarding Officer.
Thursday 25th June 2026, 10 am to 4 pm, Westerhope Methodist Church, Newcastle. Book here.
Online Advanced Modules involve 4-6 hours of independent e-learning, and then a two-hour Gathered Session on Zoom, to discuss the learning with others.
Here are all the dates for sessions happening over the next year. Please click here to book a place.
